Great job Reed! I really enjoy your voyant word frequency maps! I think they really highlight some interesting things such as on the first map where you can instantly realize which words were important such as “mother”. The insight about the cultural values from important repeated words is something I agree could be very insightful!
Hi Reed, I think this is a really interesting project! I like how you took American Indian Stories and broke it down into individual texts to compare word frequency across different narratives. Using both a word cloud and a trend graph makes it easy to see which themes are emphasized in certain stories. The interactive elements on your website sound really cool too—it’s great that users can explore the data in different ways. The way you connect word frequency to thematic meaning also makes a strong case for how digital tools can enhance literary analysis, I really admire the effort you made here.
Hi Reed, I think your project is very interesting. First, the layout of your WordPress site is very clear and well-designed. It is easy to navigate around and learn about your project. I also like your addition of the trends graph on your site. Specifically, I like how it is interactive. I agree with you that it is essential that we also look at data through a cultural and humanistic lens.
