I decided to create an interactive map showcasing the locations where Charles W. Cushman took photographs using a heatmap animation. I used the data from his photography collection to highlight the places he visited. You can view my project here.

The heatmap makes it so much easier to see patterns in his travels and highlights the places he was most drawn to. The animated timeline is a great touch, showing how his photographic journey expanded over time. It’s impressive how you cleaned and structured the data to create such an engaging visualization. This project really shows the power of digital humanities in making historical archives more interactive and accessible.
