Midterm

For my midterm project, I used Recap Photo to 3D model the statue of Gudea found in the British Museum. Gudea was the ruler of the city-state of Lagash and was a dynasty ruler in southern Mesopotamia.

  1. Hi Cynthia! Wow, your midterm turned out great! The 3D model is very clear and meshed well together. I also appreciate the problem-solving you did to fix the mixing textures of the statue. I agree with your point that photogrammetry can be used for cultural preservation and education. It is an excellent way to make history accessible to everyone.

  2. Great model! The detail on the figure and especially the inclusion of texture work really well, and I appreciate your efforts to remove stray marks and keep the model’s appearance true to reality. I agree with your comments about the potential uses of photogrammetry for DH work, and have found in my own experience that engaging with 3D models is a great substitute for when artifacts can’t be experienced in person.
