We love Carleton College. Our goal is to find the reasons for the acceptance rate trends and find other interesting factors that could account for those trends. If there are any anomalies, it would be interesting to figure out the factors that contributed to those anomalies.
What will you expect from each other?
Doing our parts efficiently and effectively, as well as being communicative about any obstacles encountered. We also expect people to show up to planned meetings on time.
How will you communicate?
We will use a Whatsapp group chat (already made) for all of our communication. If needed for whatever reason, we can also communicate via email.
How will your team handle disagreement?
Hopefully, we won’t have any disagreement, but if any disagreement arises between team members, we will work it out by having a calm conversation and listening to each other and having a mediator (group member not involved in the disagreement) if necessary.
How will you divide responsibilities? Is someone responsible for calling meetings? Cleaning data? Assess and share your own strengths and weaknesses
For the most part, we will plan times to meet and get the work done together. Depending on what needs to be done we will split it up into smaller individual tasks, for example, for data collection we will each be responsible for a subset of years. If we find that one or two members are better suited for a certain task, we will allocate work accordingly.
Lucas:
- Strengths: Experience in statistical analysis, creative
- Weaknesses: Tend to procrastinate, very busy term
Alex:
- Strengths: Creative, Good with data manipulation, wide variety of technical skills
- Weaknesses: procrastination, Busy (hard to find time to meet)
Shalim:
- Strengths: Technical and analytical skills, organization, can work alone or with a group, self-motivated
- Weaknesses: Lacking in creativity
Jeremy:
- Strengths: Does a lot of creative work
- Weaknesses: Procrastinates easily and is really busy with schoolwork
Jiao Jiao:
- Strengths: Doesn’t forget about meetings
- Weaknesses: Busy/ has a lot of big assignments due these last few weeks, bad with computers and technology, little burnt out and tired
