  1. Your data visualizations are very interesting! I appreciate the care with which you approached cleaning the data, and how you walk the viewer through your process of deciding which words were included and excluded from the dataset. I also liked your discussion at the end of your reflection about the potential a tool like Voyant has for DH work, and agree that it can provide new insight into literary analysis and interpretation.

  2. Great work! It’s interesting how you used digital tools to uncover patterns in The Analects of Confucius. It really shows how tech can add a new layer to literary analysis. Even without prior knowledge, the visuals still help reveal key themes and trends. The combination of data and interpretation makes this approach really valuable for understanding literary texts in a new way. Well done!

  3. Your analysis of the Analects of Confucius through the use of Voyant data visualization is really well structured! Your choice of keeping the word “said: in the visualization to highlight conversational speech is very interesting and well thought out. Great job with successfully demonstrating how digital tools can provide new insights to classical texts.

  4. Your project looks great! I am curious about the data cleaning process. You mentioned that you removed most of the appendixes and lisencing agreements which I agree was a good step. This information definitely would have confused and damaged your analysis. My question is relevant to stop words. You only mention that “Chap” was removed but I would have assumed there would be many more stop words that appeared in the cloud before this step. This is common for text now days but maybe this is a difference originating from historical writing compared to modern writing.
