I really enjoy the way that you decided to organize the data, it is easy to see how much work, time and care went into the project. I am intrigued however by what inspired the decision to group them by sets of 20 years instead of other amounts like say 10 or 50 for example, how did you choose this number? Was it an arbitrary decision that the number felt nice or was it based on the data that you had gathered?
Both the data itself and the way you presented it are really well done! The drastic changes in the number of sculpture creations made me really curious about the reasons behind them. Beyond that, this also gave me a better understanding of how data sources can influence both the data and DH research. In my own website, I focused on Tate’s collections from 1950-1955, where the proportion of sculptures was really low, making it hard to identify any patterns. This shows that the source of the data can significantly impact the results, which is definitely something worth paying attention to.
